Edward Naylor (c. 1660–1722) was an English composer and organist, primarily known for his contributions to sacred music during the Baroque period. He was notably associated with the Anglican church and is often recognized for his anthems, which reflect the stylistic characteristics of the time, blending choral traditions with instrumental elements. Naylor served as the organist at St. Paul's Cathedral in London and later at the Chapel Royal. His most significant works include a collection of anthems such as "The Lord is My Shepherd" and "I Will Magnify Thee," which showcase his skill in vocal writing and harmonization. His compositions often feature rich textures and melodic lines, making them enduring pieces in the choral repertoire. Although Naylor's recognition waned after his death, his music has experienced a revival in recent years, highlighting the importance of his contributions to the development of English choral music.
